A mild 4.3-magnitude tremor was today felt in the central Nepal. Nepal’s National Seismological Centre recorded the tremor at 5:12 AM with its epicentre in Gorkha.
It has been listed as an aftershock of last year’s 7.8-magnitude quake that struck Barpak of Gorkha district, 150 km west of Kathmandu. The last aftershock was recorded at 5:10 AM on June 3 with its epicentre at Sindhupalchok district in the east of Kathmandu.
According to the NSC, it has recorded more than 30,000 aftershock of the Gorkha earthquake in a year, but data of only 463 significant aftershocks with 4 or more magnitude were processed to alert the public.
