A female police officer was “seriously” wounded and several more people injured in a shoot-out at a train station in Munich, Germany on Tuesday afternoon. One person has been detained and a police operation is currently underway.
The shooting occurred during a morning police check at the Unterfoehring subway station, Munich police spokesman Michael Riehlein said. Witnesses said the suspect took a police officer's handgun and then shot her, also injuring others at the S-Bahn station in the northeastern suburb of the Bavarian city.
Police later tweeted that at least one person was injured. Munich's Merkur newspaper reported that witnesses said the suspect took a police officer's pistol and then shot her, and also injured others at the scene.
