Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday approved ‘to continue the existing open policy of the country to display all international movies’ including Indian films in Pakistani cinemas.
After Indian troops had carried out surgical strikes on LoC across the border, Pakistan Film Exhibitors and Distributors Association had imposed a ban on the screening of Indian movies in Pakistani cinemas.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said in a notification that importer would have to submit a request to the Information and Broadcasting Division for the import of Indian films.

The concerned department will retain a copy and forward the request to the ministry of commerce for issuance of an import license under Import Policy 2016.
