Nepal clears USD 1.6-bn hydropower project by Chinese firm
Nepal has approved a proposal by China’s biggest hydropower developer to build a long-delayed hydropower project worth USD 1.6 billion in western Nepal, in a move that could raise alarm in India over growing Chinese presence in its neighbourhood.
