Nine soldiers were killed and 11 were injured in a suicide attack on a Pakistan Army convoy in Quetta, Balochistan province of Pakistan, reported The Balochistan Post. The incident came just a few days after 40 CRPF personnel were killed in a suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. According to report, the Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar (BRAS) have claimed responsibility for the attack between Turbat and Panjgur, on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route.

The attack occurred hours before the Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived in Pakistan. The Saudi Prince reached Islamabad on Sunday on a two-day visit.

The Balochistan Liberation Front and Baloch Republican Guards have claimed responsibility for the attack between Turbat and Panjgur region. The report quoted Baloch Khan, the spokesperson for BRAS, as saying that their fighters had attacked the Pakistani security forces patrolling team and a camp at the same time on Sunday morning on CPEC route between Panjgur and Turbat city.

On Thursday, JeM suicide bomber Adil Ahmad Dar rammed his explosive-laden vehicle in the bus carrying CRPF jawans on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. The bus was part of a convoy of 78 vehicles carrying over 2,500 paramilitary personnel to Kashmir from Jammu. Most of them were joining duty after coming back from leave.
