Pakistan’s former President Pervez Musharraf has accused People’s Party of Pakistan (PPP) leader and Benazir Bhutto’s husband Asif Ali Zardari behind his wife’s assassination on Thursday.

“Asif Ali Zardari is responsible for the murder of Benazir and Murtaza Bhutto,” said Musharraf in a video posted on his official Facebook page.

Musharraf in the video said, “Every time a murder takes place, the first thing that needs to be investigated who is the person to gain from death. In this case, i Had everything to lose as I was in power.”

He in the video further said, “There was just one person to benefit from Benazir’s assassination and he is Asif Ali Zardari.”

The former Pakistani president further added that Zardari was in power for five years but why was the investigation no active then.

“He was involved in Benazir’s murder so he did not look into the case when he was in power,” said Musharraf.

Musharraf explaining further said that evidences clear that Baitullah Mehsud and his people were involved in the murder.

“The question is who asked them to target Benazir Bhutto. It could not be me because Mehsud and his men hated me and the feeling was mutual,” said Musharraf.

The video was released almost a fortnight after an anti-terrorism court in Pakistan had declared former military ruler Pervez Musharraf a fugitive in ex-prime minister Benazir Bhutto's assassination.
