Pakistan: Seven dead, more than 1500 affected by dengue in Peshawar

The deadly dengue has killed seven people and affected more than 1500 people in Pakistan's Peshawar, according to the data released by the authorities on Tuesday.

Pakistan media oragnisation Dawn has reported that a total of 1,547 people tested positive for the virus, of which 560 were admitted to different hospitals in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa capital. The documents said 242 patients were still being treated, the report added.

Tehkal, Pishtakhara, Warsak Road and Deh Bahadarwere the most affected areas with fatal dengue disease and The Khyber Teaching Hospital, Hayatabad Medical Complex and Lady Reading Hospital are treating most of the victims.

The recent dengue outbreak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has become an alarming situation for the authorities and residents. The first case of dengue outbreak this year was reported from Peshawar on June 14 this year.
