A Pakistani woman to escape arranged marriage mixed poison into milk to kill her husband and unwittingly killed 17 of her in-laws in Muzaffargarh.

Pakistan Police produced one Aasia Bibi, 21-year-old woman was produced in a local court. She confessed her crime while talking to the media. “I had mixed poison in the milk to escape the forced arranged marriage.”

Bibi further said that she was forced by her parents to marry a relative. “I had repeatedly asked my parents not to marry me against my will which my religion also permits,” she added.

The accused further added that she was willing to do anything to get out of the marriage but they even refused to permit a divorce.

ITv quoting local police officer Sohail Habib Tajak said, “Bibi and her boyfriend have been arrested for killing 17 people.”

The officer, “She was very desperate to get out of the marriage. Her boyfriend Shahid Lashari provided her with poison.”

The policeman added that Bibi mixed the poison in milk and gave it to her, who refused to drink it. Later her mother-in-law used the milk to make lassi and served it to 27 members of the family. Soon after drinking the lassi all of them fell unconscious. Seventeen of the family members reportedly died during treatment.

Earlier on Monday she had denied the allegations but on Tuesday she confessed to the crime. Regretting death of 17 persons she said, “I had targeted my husband not others.”
