Bangladeshi authorities have released photos of bodies of five attackers, who had stormed a restaurant, killing 28 people including nine Italians, seven Japanese, three Bangladeshis and one Indian teenager.
First name of attackers are Akash, Badhon, Bikash, Don and Ripon, all from "good educational background."
"They are all Bangladeshis. They are from rich families, they have good educational background," Bangladesh's Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said.
The attackers have been identified as being part of the banned domestic group Jumatul Mujahedeen Bangladesh, or JMB. All possibilities of them being connected terror outfit Islamic State have been ruled out. Taking claim of the attack IS had released deadly photographs of the incident on their website.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina instead had different angle to the tragic incident. She had blamed her opponents of trying to create chaos in the country by backing domestic militants.
This was the first time Bangladesh has faced such militant attack.
