Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday arrived in Indonesia's capital Jakarta on the first leg of his five-day three-nation tour. Modi's visit is likely to enhance India’s economic and strategic ties with Indonesia. Apart from Indonesia, Modi will also visit Malaysia and Singapore. The three-nation tour of Modi is in line with his government’s Act East Policy.
"Landed in Jakarta. India and Indonesia are friendly maritime neighbours with deep civilisational links. This visit will further the convergence of our political, economic and strategic interests,"Â the prime minister tweeted soon after landing in Jakarta.
