In a tragic incident, 32 people on-board a Russia cargo plane, carrying 26 passengers and 6 crew members crashed near Hmeimim base in Syria on Tuesday.

Russia's Defense Ministry said none of the 32 people on-board the plane could survive the fatal crash.

According to the local media reports, the transport plane An-26 crashed during landing at Hmeimim air base, near the Syrian coastal city of Latakia.

Russia has denied reports of the plane being fired upon and said a technical malfunction could be the reason behind the crash.

This is the second incident of a plane in a span of just one month. Earlier last month, Russian domestic passenger plane had crashed in Moscow minutes after taking off from Domodedovo airport.
