UK Parliament shooting: Here's how world leaders express shock and grief

World leaders have expressed grief and shock on the deadly UK Parliament attack in which five people were killed and 40 others injured.

The tragic incident occured when a terrorist suspect mowed down pedestrians on a bridge apart from stabbing a police officer outside parliament complex before being shot dead by Scotland Yard officers.

Indian PM Narendra Modi said that India is deeply saddened by the attack and promised that India stands with UK in these troubled times.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May condemned the terror attack and said that a sick and depraved terrorist took precious lives.

French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel both expressed their support and solidarity with Britain after today's attack. 'We are all concerned with terrorism,' Hollande told reporters during a visit in Villepinte, outside Paris.

The lights of the Eiffel Tower were turned off at midnight in solidarity with the victims of Wednesday's horrific events. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said in a statement that her city shares with London 'a common love of freedom and an attachment to democracy'.

US President Donald Trump too expressed his support to UK Prime Minster Theresa May apart from condemning the terror attack.

Indian President Pranab Mukherjee siad that India stands united with UK in this hour of grief.

President Pranab Mukherjee said that India is hugely saddened by the tragedy that has befallen United Kingdom.

Indian Union External Affairs Minister Sushsma Swaraj informed on Wednesday that there is no Indian causality took place so far near UK Parliament.

I am in constant touch with Indian High Commission in London. There is no Indian casualty reported so far. #LondonAttack @HCI_London

The External Affairs Minister said that she is in regular touch with Indian high commission and would extend all possible help to Indians in London.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan said that Londoners will never bow down to terrorism. He also praised martyred police officer PC Keith Palmer for his brave act.
