US: 5 killed in Ohio farmhouse fire, investigation underway

At least five people were killed after a fire broke out at a farmhouse in Ohio, US. The fire was so intense that the firefighters were not able to get inside the house to save the victims, the officials said.

At least five people were killed after a fire broke out at a farmhouse in Ohio, US. The fire was so intense that the firefighters were not able to get inside the house to save the victims, the officials said.

Dean Henry, a spokesman for Seneca County said that 3 adults and 2 children lived in the two-storey farmhouse just outside city of Fostoria.

A girl inside the house made the first call at 911 from her father’s mobile on Wednesday morning, the authorities said.

The police found the three bodies in the morning itself and the remaining two were later recovered by them. Some parts of the house also got collapsed due to which it became difficult for them to search.

Speaking on the incident, Chief Mark DeVault of the Bascom Joint Fire District said, “There was a lot of fire coming out of the front a lot of heavy smoke.”
