On 20 January a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) with the capacity of 409 passengers, forced seven passengers to stand during travel.
The incident is criticesd as breach of safety regulations, as the passengers were standing on a four-hour flight from Karachi to Madinah on January 20.
According to the Express Tribune, the passengers were boarded on an overbooked PK-743 flight.
The aircraft, a Boeing 777, has a seating arrangement for 409 people, including jump seats, but it accommodated only 416 passengers.
“The matter is being investigated closely and anyone found guilty will be taken to task,” PIA spokesman Daniyal Gilani told a local English daily.
