Kabul: Indian envoy's residence attacked with rocket-launched grenade, no report of injury; Taliban claims responsibility

Indian guesthouse was attacked with a rocket in Kabul on Tuesday soon after a blast at the NATO's international peace conference. So far there were no reports of injury or damage from the Indian envoy's house. 

The two blasts, which ripped apart the Afghanistan's capital Kabul on Tuesday are second such incident within a week. The first blast, on last Wednesday, also took place in Kabul's diplomatic enclave and killed at least 150 people while 300 others were injured, Afghanistani President Ashraf Ghani informed NATO international peace conference on Tuesday. 

The two separate incidents took place almost during the international conference was observing 1 minutes silence for the victims of the previous blast. 

The first blast was reported at the centre where the NATO peace talks are being held, while almost immediately second rocket blast was reported from the Indian envoy's house. The reports said that the rocket landed at tennis court of India House and there were no injuries.  

According to reports in New York Times, Taliban has claimed the responsibility for the rocket attack.

Report in Afghan press agency - KHAAMA PRESS: 

"A relatively heavy explosion was heard in Kabul city few minutes earlier. There are no reports regarding the type of the explosion and the exact location. 

"Security sources confirm that the sound of an explosion was heard from the vicinity of Shash Darak area of Kabul city. The sources are saying that a rocket fired from an unknown location has apparently landed in the area.

"The Ministry of Interior (Afghanistan) spokesman Najib Danish confirmed a rocket landed in a tennis yard in Shash Darak area but no casualties or collateral damage were incurred.

"This comes as Kabul is hosting a major summit, Kabul Process, aimed at establishing a regional and global census in the fight against terrorism and the Afghan peace process.
