A group of armed men have beheaded a 30-year-old woman in Sar-e-Pul province of Afghanistan, The Nation reported on Wednesday.
The incident took place on Monday evening in the remote village of Latti in Sar-e-Pul, the report quoted local officials as saying.
The report says Provincial Governor spokesman Zabiullah Amani has confirmed the incident. He also said that the armed men were linked with Taliban, the report said.
The woman visited the city alone without her husband and this was the reason behind her beheading, Amani was quoted as saying.
Sar-e-Pul women's affairs head Nasima Arezo has also confirmed the incident.
However the Taliban has rejected its involvement in the incident, report said.
