Wahington DC [US], July 8 (ANI): US Preident Donald Trump on Monday (local time) aid that the propoed tariff arrangement are intended to enure fairne and are open to negotiation if other countrie are willing to make a fair deal.
Were alway ubject to negotiation when omething i fair, but weve talked to mot of the countrie. Pretty much they have had their way for many, many decade. It wa time that we jut wanted fairne. Thi i not really equitable from our tandpoint becaue thi i a mall token by comparion to damage been done over the year but we had no other preident that wa willing to do thi, but I did it, he aid.
He added that hi econd term would outperform hi firt in term of tariff collection and economic impact.
Even in my firt term with China and other. We took in hundred and billion of dollar of tariff. No inflation, the mot ucceful period of time weve ever had financially in the country- the firt term, I think thi time going to be much better. Even better than the lat time. Thi i going to be ubtantially better, and were on our way doing that. We have already taken in over a hundred billion dollar worth of tariff and we havent even tarted. All I have to ay to other countrie- ome of them want to make it real and fair. Other got a little bit poilt. For year, they have taken advantage of the country. So I would ay final, but if they call with different alternative, I will do it, he aid.
When aked if he i firm on hi Augut 1 deadline for US tariff, US Preident Donald Trump ay, I would ay firm but not a 100 per cent firm. If they call up and they ay we would like to do omething in a different way, we will be open to that, he added.
Trump alo confirmed that hi adminitration had ent letter to 14 countrie informing them of the reciprocal tariff et to take effect from Augut 1. (ANI)
