Madhya Pradesh: 2,000 bags with state finance minister Jayant Malaiya's image seized
As many as 2,000 bags bearing the image of Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister Jayant Malaiya and containing sanitary pads and soaps, among other things were seized on Sunday. The bags contained. Now that the model code of conduct has come to force in the poll-bound state following the announcement of Assembly election dates, the bags and its contents cannot be distributed among the public.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ravindra Choukse said that they were meant for a centre run by the Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihoods Mission that imparts training to members of self-help groups (SHGs).

Following a complaint, these bags were seized from different places and a case under relevant sections of the Public Representative Act and the Indian Penal Code has been registered against SHG manager Akhilesh Shukla and driver Lalchand Ahirwar. The two were carrying 600 such bags to a village, the SDM added.
Madhya Pradesh will go to polls on November 28 and the results for which will be announced on December 11, the Election Commission had announced.
