Maharashtra Polls: Marathi Actor Deepali Sayyad Joins Shiv Sena
Deepali Sayyad Has Acted In Over 30 Marathi Films And Several TV Serials.
Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019: Marathi actress Deepali Sayyad has joined the Shiv Sena ahead of the state assembly polls. Deepali Sayyad joined the party in presence of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. She entered films after starring in popular Marathi serials in the 1990s - Bandini and Samantar. She has acted in over 30 Marathi films and several TV serials.
Deepali changed her name to Sofia Jahangir Sayyad after her marriage. She also fought the 2014 Maharashtra assembly elections from Ahmednagar constituency on the ticket of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). There are reports that Shiv Sena may field Deepali Sayyad from the Mumbra Vidhan Sabha seat. If given the ticket, Deepali Sayyad will face NCP's Jitendra Awhad.
BJP will contest 162 seats and the Shiv Sena 126, according to the seat-sharing formula for the October 21 assembly elections.
