COVID-19: LNJP, GB Pant Hospitals To Close OPD Services From April 4
In The Wake Of Coronavirus Outbreak, The OPD Services At Delhi’s Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Hospital (LNJP) And Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital Will Be Closed From April 4.
In the wake of coronavirus outbreak, the OPD services at Delhi’s Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Hospital (LNJP) and Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital will be closed from April 4. In a meeting held by Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Friday, the decision to close the OPD facilities at LNJP and GB Pant Hospital was taken as both these hospitals are among the five facilities in the national capital designated for treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Earlier, the New Delhi AIIMS had also decided to suspend routine walk-in OPD registration of patients on a temporary basis to meet the increasing number of coronavirus cases in Delhi.
“It has been decided to temporarily close down routine walk-in OPD's patients' registrations including Specialty Clinics at AIIMS Hospital and all Centres from March 23 till further orders," an AIIMS official had said.

The Union Health Ministry has already asked hospitals and medical education institutes to procure sufficient number of ventilators and high-flow oxygen masks to cater the surge in number of COVID-19 cases in Delhi. The ministry in its order had also asked the hospitals to decrease the gatherings of patients in their other premises.
According to latest update, the number of coronavirus cases in Delhi nearly doubled on Thursday taking the total count to 293. The city witnessed 141 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths in a single day.
Moreover, the pan-India coronavirus cases count has crossed the 2000-mark with more than 50 deaths reported so far.
