Retired sub-inspector, out for morning walk, shot dead in Ghaziabad's Loni

A retired sub-inspector was shot dead by assailants on Monday as he was out for a morning walk in the Loni area of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, adjacent to national capital Delhi. The retired sub-inspector, Shabbar Zaidi, had left his home at 6 am, never to return. Armed assailants fired several rounds at him killing him instantly. However, they managed to escape after killing the former cop.
The police are investigating the case and trying to ascertain the reason for the brutal murder.
