Veteran actor Manoj Kumar successfully underwent a gall bladder surgery on Wednesday at a suburban hospital.
Kumar was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in suburban Andheri a few days back, following pain and swelling in gall bladder.
"The surgery went well, it was successful and he is doing fine," hospital director Ram Narain told agencies.
The surgery lasted for over an hour. Kumar is known for acting and directing films with patriotic themes. He is fondly referred to as 'Bharat Kumar'.
The actor's memorable performances include films like 'Purab aur Paschim', 'Roti Kapda Aur Makaan', 'Shor', 'Woh Kaun Thi', 'Kranti', 'Do Badan' and others. In 1992, he was honoured with the 'Padmashri'.
