Amitabh Bachchan and other Bollywood celebs react to Mumbai CST bridge collapse tragedy
Netizens Took To Twitter To Express Their Grief And Disappointment Over The Incident.
A tragedy struck Mumbai late on Thursday when major portion of a foot overbridge outside Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway station collapsed killing five and injuring several others.
Netizens took to Twitter to express their grief and disappointment over the incident. Some questioned the civic body, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, and Central Railways over poor infrastructure. Some also asked why the bridge was operational when it was undergoing repair work.
Bollywood actors has reacted to the situation. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan prayed for the speedy recovery of the victims. “T 3118 - In grief and in silent prayer .. !! Mumbai city†he tweeted.

Actor Riteish Deshmukh paying condolences to the victims said, “What a horrible tragedy.. so sad to know that many have lost lives. My deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones & prayers for the injured. This #MumbaiBridgeCollapse should have been avoided. This negligence is unpardonable.â€
Expressing grief on the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: "Deeply anguished by the loss of lives due to the foot overbridge accident in Mumbai. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. Wishing that the injured recover at the earliest. The Maharashtra Government is providing all possible assistance to those affected."
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 Lakh each for the families of those who died in the incident and compensation of Rs 50,000 each for the injured
