Angrezi Medium Was Cut Short Of Its Run After Theatres And All Other Public Places Were Asked To Shut Down Amid Coronavirus Outbreak.
Hotstar's latest collaboration with Disney+ has one suprise after another. After getting all the popular Disney animated and superhero movies onboard, the channel has got Irrfan Khan's Angrezi Medium on board. The film stars Radhika Madan, Kareena Kapoor, Deepak Dobriyal in other prominent roles.
The movie that was sequel to Irrfans' superhit Hindi Medium was cut short of its run after theatres and all other public places were asked to shut down amid coronavirus outbreak. The film, directed by Homi Adajania, released worldwide and in various part of the country on March 13. According to Box Office India report, the film earned an estimated Rs 3.50-3.75 crore nett on the opening day. It wrapped up business at just Rs 9.36 crore at movie theatres.
Irrfan took to Twitter to announce the release of the film on the streaming platform. He wrote, “Hop on to the dreamy roller-coaster ride with this father-daughter duo as we bring to you the World Digital Premiere of #AngreziMedium only on @DisneyplusHSVIP ! Radhika Madan too announced the news and shared a screen grab of all the cast on a video call prepping for the film's digital primere.
This is Irrfan's first release since he was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer. The actor couldn't attend the film's promotions due to his health conditions.
