Coronavirus: FWICE Warns Film Stars From Donating For Relief Package To People Not Associated With Body
FWICE In A New Statement Has Warned Everyone Associated With The Film Industry To Be Careful Before Giving Money In The Name Of Charity As Unscrupulous People Are Taking The Opportunity To Make Quick Bucks.
Coronavirus lockdown has affected the daily income of several wagers in the country. Daily wagers employed with several production houses are among the worse hit and FWICE has come forward to provide them monetary relief. After approaching the superstar actors in-person to contribute to the corpus, the film body in a new statement has warned everyone associated with the film industry to be careful before giving money in the name of charity as unscrupulous people are taking the opportunity to make quick bucks.
Emphasizing that FWICE is doing their best to rehabilitate the members associated with different crafts of the industry they said, "We will announce our relief package quite shortly", FWICE said. They also requested production houses, actors, corporates and even government to come up with a donation.
FWICE went on to stress that since many have started their personal call for donation without informing them, one should not give out any money as contribution until the person is affiliated to the 32 department organization or with any film body.
Meanwhile, FWICE’s president B.N. Tiwari has asked Amitabh Salman Khan to help them raise some funds for the workers.
Siddharth Roy Kapur who is the President of the Producers Guild of India in an announcement earlier said “In light of the complete shutdown of all production-related activity for the foreseeable future due to the COVID-19 outbreak, there is bound to be a significant impact on the lives and livelihood of daily wage earners in the industry.” said the release.
Announcing about the relief fund, the producer’s guild asked the entertainment fraternity to contribute to the fund to ensure the shutdown causes minimum disruption in the lives of these workers in these ‘difficult times.’
