Following Religious Outburst, 'Dabangg 3' Makers Remove Objectionable Scenes From ‘Hud Hud Dabangg’
On November 29, Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, The Maharashtra And Chattisgarh Branch Of A Religious Organization, Demanded The Removal Of The Sequence And Sent A Letter To The Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) Stating That The Certain Parts Of The Song Hurt Religious Sentiments.
Makers of Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3 has ‘voluntarily’ removed objectionable scenes from the song ‘Hud Hud Dabangg’. The song, as per original release showed sadhus strumming on electric guitars which caused a furore among some religious groups. On November 29, Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, the Maharashtra and Chattisgarh branch of a religious organization, demanded the removal of the sequence and sent a letter to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) stating that the act hurts religious sentiments.
In the letter to CBFC, the group had said, “If the movie happens to be on the lines of what we have seen in the trailer, it is extremely shocking depiction of Hindu deities and saadhus and also goes at great lengths to humiliate and poke fun at the basic foundations of Sanatana Dharma.”
The makers of the movie have now released an official statement on Twitter stating that they have removed objectionable scenes from the song to respect the sentiments of the people.
“Keeping everyone’s sentiments in mind, we have voluntarily edited certain scenes from the song ‘Hud Hud Dabangg’,” the note by Salman Khan Films’ Twitter handle read.
Directed by Prabhudeva, Dabangg 3 will once again see Salman Khan in the aviator-sunglass wearing cop. Also produced by Salman, Arbaaz Khan and Nikhil Dwivedi, Dabangg 3 stars Sonakshi Sinha, Mahesh Manjrekar, Saiee Manjrekar, Arbaaz Khan, and Kannada star Kichcha Sudeep.
The film is slated to hit big screens on December 20, 2019.
