Good Newwz Box Office Collection Day 5: Akshay Kumar-Kareena Kapoor's Film Mints Rs 94.60 Crore

Good Newwz, featuring Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani in lead roles, is continuing its winning streak at the box-office. The film, which hit the screens on December 27, collected Rs 16.20 crore on Tuesday, taking the total collections to Rs 94.6 crore.
Sharing the numbers on Twitter, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, "Good Newwz gallops into #NewYear triumphantly... Packs a superb number on Day 5 [New Year Eve], despite lower ticket rates on weekdays... Will cross Rs 100 cr today [Wed; 1 Jan]... 17.56 cr, Sat 21.78 cr, Sun 25.65 cr, Mon 13.41 cr, Tue 16.20 cr. Total: Rs 94.60 cr. #India business."The story of the film revolves around two married couples and their journey of love. Akshay and Kareena are seen as Mr. and Mrs. Batra, trying to conceive a baby. On the other hand, Diljit and Kiara too, who share the same surname, also plan to have a baby through IVF. And the real twist comes when Kareena’s eggs are fertilized with Diljit’s sperm and Kiara’s eggs are fertilized with Akshay’s sperm.
Directed by newcomer Raj Mehta and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Good Newwz also features Adil Hussain and Tisca Chopra in supporting roles. The film was earlier named Good Newwz but was underwent a spelling change. Producer Karan Johar had announced the name change on Akshay’s 52nd birthday in September.
