Actress-politician Hema Malini’s 15-year wait for a government land to set up a classical dance school here is likely to be over soon, with the proposal being in last stages of clearance by the state government.Hema met state revenue minister Eknath Khadse regarding the issue at Mantralaya here today.“The minister has assured me that the state government is positive on the proposal. The land was first sanctioned to me by late Bal Thackeray during the then Sena-BJP government rule,” Hema told reporters after the meeting.“However, later the plot was marked under CRZ and I sought another plot. For the last 15 years, I pursued the matter with then Chief Ministers Vilasrao Deshmukh, Sushilkumar Shinde and Prithviraj Chavan,” the BJP MP said.“I want the school to be a platform for children to learn, teach and perform classical dance. I am confident that I will get the land by this government,” the actress said.Khadse said Malini’s land proposal is in the “final stage” and the government is likely to allot her the plot on the basis of certain norms that the government has for land allotment.
