It's A Long Journey And I Am A Hustler For Life: Yami Gautam Reacts To Filmfare Snub

The 65th edition of Filmfare Awards were held in Guwahati, Assam on the night of February 15. Several Bollywood stars won the award for their contribution to the Indian Cinema. However, actress Yami Gautam was left out of the nominations for her performance in Bala opposite Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar. The actress was highly appreciated by critics for her portrayal of small town Tik Tok star Pari Mishra in the film, but she didn't get nominated at any leading awards.

The actress recently addressed the subject. She took to Twitter to wrote an emotional post on the same. She wrote, "I feel compelled to express my views, in response to the countless messages that I have been receiving, for getting 'overlooked' and not being nominated for my performance in Bala. Honestly, winning an award does feel like a strong sense of achieve-ment and confidence. But more than that, a nomination in itself, is a mark of acknowledgment, love and respect towards your hard work and talent. Having said that, the esteemed jury are some of the most noted and senior members of the fraternity who have made important contributions in cinema. Hence, I shall respectfully accept their perspectives."

She added, "In the end, I just want to say, these are just experiences which make you even more self assured and determined in life. It re-instates your faith, in the fact, that you don't need to seek validation for your work or yourself from anyone."

For the uninitiated, Bala earned three nominations at the Filmfare awards, the best actor award for Ayushmann Khurrana, for supporting actress Seema Pahwa, and for dialogue writer Niren Bhatt. Ayushmann reacted to Yami’s post in the comments section, and wrote, ''So proud YG.'' Actor Vikrant Massey called Yami his 'favourite human', and Ayushmann’s wife, Tahira Kashyap wrote, ''Buddha baby.''

On the work front, Yami will next be seen in Ginny Weds Sunny opposite Vikrant Massey.
