Kareena Kapoor joins Irrfan Khan, Radhika Madan for 'Angrezi Medium' shoot; check details about her role
Producer Dinesh Vijan Confirmed The News And Said The Actor Will Be A Great Addition To The Franchise.
After much speculation about who will play teh female lead in Irrfan Khan starrer Angrezi Medium, it has been confirmed that Kareena Kapoor has been finalised for the project.
Producer Dinesh Vijan confirmed the news and said the actor will be a "great addition to the franchise".
"'Angrezi Medium' is a very special film, and I'm excited that she's going to be a part of it. We wanted to introduce this character who would be taken forward in the franchisees to come, and she's perfect for it," Vijan said in a statement.
"Here she plays a cop, a role she's actually never done before. We will be shooting in London this June and it will be great to be back on set with her," he added.
The film is currently being shot in Udaipur, Rajasthan. "GMB (Ghasiteram Mishthan Bhandar) serving since 1900s
The film, directed by Homi Adajania, went on floors recently and also stars Radhika Madan and Deepak Dobriyal, among others.
While Irrfan Khan’s character in 'Hindi Medium' was Raj Batra, a Delhi based businessman with a sari showroom, he plays Champak from Udaipur who is in the mithai business for 'Angrezi Medium'. Deepak Dobriyal who was also seen in Hindi Medium plays his brother and they two have inherited a 100-year-old sweet business. Spilling beans about the plot the director said, Irrfan’s daughter has aspirations of studying in the West.
After shooting in Rajasthan till end of the month, the team will be filming the rest of the movie in London. The film officially went on the floors in Udaipur on Friday and the first pictures from the shoot show the actor in a healthier state.
