Rani Mukerji is back as the badass cop Shivani Shivaji Roy with the second instalment of her film, Mardaani 2. The trailer that dropped a month ahead of its release shows Rani getting fiercer and more determined in bringing an end to crime against women.
Just like the first movie dealt with child trafficking , the second instalment gets gory and more merciless as the villain commits inhumane atrocities by abducting women and hanging their body with a mask on like a piece of meat
Mardaani 2 is based in Kota, Rajasthan, a town where students from all over the country come to take IIT-JEE coaching. The trailer starts with a girl taking lift from a guy. He rapes her and then brutally murders he and leaves her brutally bruised body at aforlorn ruined site. According to earlier interview of director Puthran, the 21-year-old villain is an embodiment of pure evil, and the trailer has glimpses of his savage acts and even challenging ACP Shivani Shivaji Roy to nab him.

The first film marked the debut of Tahir Raj Bhasin as a villain and now the sequel will have Vikram Singh Chauhan as the lead antagonist.
With powerful dialogues and impressive cast, it looks like Mardaani 2 will be loved by audiences. The trailer is bit unsettling with graphics of violence against women. The film's main focus is the rampant rape cases in India committed by juveniles.
Mardaani 2 has been helmed by Gopi Puthran and produced by her husband Aditya Chopra's banner Yash Raj Films and is scheduled to release on December 13.
