'Mogul' first look: Akshay Kumar to portray 'Emperor of Music' Gulshan Kumar in his biopic (see pic)

After winning accolades for his last release 'Jolly LLB 2', Akshay Kumar is all set with his next project 'Mogul' which happens to be a biopic on legendary singer Gulshan Kumar.

The superstar will be seen portraying the role of the T-series head honcho in the movie.

Akshay took it Instagram to share the news with his fans and even released the first look of the movie.

He shared a poster of the movie, featuring an image of the emperor of music on a golden background.

It as also displayed the title saying 'Akshay Kumar as Mogul The Gulshan Kumar Story'.

Akshay captioned the poster as "‪My association with Him began with my very first film. He was The Emperor Of Music! Now know His story... #Mogul, The Gulshan Kumar story!‬"

Talking to an entertainment portal, Akki admitted that he is much excited to be a part of the movie.

“I had the good fortune of knowing Gulshanji well. We both shared many things in common and come from a similar background. And I am very excited to play him on-screen,” the 'Rustom' actor was quoted as saying.

Interestingly, there was a special reason for the makers to release the poster today.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, while Gulshan Kumar was extremely attached to his daughter Tulsi. Thus the makers chose to release the poster on her birthday on March 15.

The Gulshan Kumar biopic will be helmed by Subhash Kapoor, who had earlier worked with Akki in 'Jolly LLB 2'.

The movie is expected to hit the floors by the end of this year.
