Phir Hera Pheri director Neeraj Vora dies at 54; PM Narendra Modi and Akshay Kumar express grief
Neeraj Was Part Of Several Bollywood Movies With The Notable Ones Being Welcome Back, Bol Bachchan, Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal And Khatta Meetha.
Bollywood director Neeraj Vora who helmed Phir Hera Pheri passed away at the age of 54 in Criti Care Hospital on Thursday morning. The writer-director suffered a brain stroke in October 2016 and was in coma for the past 13 months.Â
Vora had been staying in renowned film producer Firoz Nadiadwala since October 2016 after he slipped into coma due to a heart attack. Nadiadwala had brought the actor to his house and took care of him.
When Neeraj's health deteriorated, he was taken to the hospital where he breathed his last. The director who died of a multi-organ failure will be taken for last rites to Santacruz Electric Crematorium at 3 p.m.
Neeraj was part of several Bollywood movies with the notable ones being Welcome Back, Bol Bachchan, Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal and Khatta Meetha. The film-maker who made his directorial debut with Khiladi 420 had written the script for Rohit Shetty's Golmaal.
Not many know that Neeraj started working as a writer in late 1980's on TV shows, including Shah Rukh Khan's 'Circus'.Â
Popular actor Paresh Rawal took to Twitter to share the news of Neeraj’s demise.Â
