After taking the tinsel town by storm, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth today set the social platform on fire following his Twitter plunge."Salutations to the Lord. Vanakkam anaivarukkum (Greetings to all)!! A big thank you to all my fans. Excited on this digital journey," was the actor's debut tweet on the micro-blogging site.The 63-year-old actor's official handle is '@SuperStarRajini'. His presence on Twitter coincides with the release of his upcoming film 'Kochadaiiyaan' directed by his daughter Soundarya, which hits theatres this Friday. "I am happy to connect with my fans in social media, starting with Twitter... I am told that this is where all the best Rajini one liners are," an energetic Rajinikanth said in a video that went viral on YouTube. Among those who cheered the star included popular Tamil director Venkat Prabhu, politician M K Alagiri's son Dayanidhi and DMK MLA and senior leader J Anbazhagan.The megastar turned out to be an instant hit on the micro-blogging site, drawing over two lakh followers within minutes of his handle going official."We welcome Rajinikanth to Twitter, are happy to support his launch on the platform and look forward to watching him engage in live, public conversations with fans and other icons around the world," said Rishi Jaitly, Twitter's India Market Director.Rajinikanth is now busy shooting for his next movie 'Lingaa', interestingly named after one of his grandsons.
