Ayushmann Khurrana And Jitendra Kumar’s 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' Reportedly Banned In Dubai And UAE For 'Gay Content'
The Movie On Two Men-lovers, 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' Played By Ayushmann Khurrana And Jitendra Kumar’ Reportedly ‘banned’ Because Of Its Homosexuality Content.
As Ayushmann Khurrana and Jitendra Kumar’s Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan open across India cinemas today, viewers from Dubai and UAE will reportedly not be able to experience the movie in the theatres as it has been ‘banned’ because of its homosexuality content. A report by Bollywood Hungama was quoted as saying,
“We knew this was coming. Or, rather not coming. We really wanted to see what Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan has to say, since it is the first Bollywood film that normalises a gay relationship. Sadly, all films with a gay content are banned in these parts.”
Directed by Hitesh Kewalya, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is being received by Tweeple with open arms as they are accepting homosexuality. Lauding the stars for the ‘natural and raw acting’, tweeple, as of now, has nothing by praises for the rom-com movie about two men in love.
As for how Bollywood as progressed in regards to embracing different types of sexuality, Ayushmann, earlier told IANS, “As an artist, I’m fortunate and privileged to be living and working in such times. I’m proud of my country and industry for the progressiveness that it has shown in the recent past and I’m grateful that I’m part of such a vision like Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan that tells us about important life and societal lessons’’.
Playing the love-interest of Khurrana is Jitendra Kumar. Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan also stars Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Maanvi Gagroo in key roles.
