Veteran actor Anupam has grabbed the headlines after he was roped in to portray former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in his upcoming movie 'The Accidental Prime Minister'. The movie is said to be based on Sanjaya Baru’s book and will be helmed by debutante director Vijay Ratnakar Gutte.Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the first look of the movie, giving a glimpse of Anupam Kher as Manmohan Singh. He wrote, "Anupam Kher in and as #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister... Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte... Produced by Bohra Bros... First look poster"
Taran further revealed the release date of the movie stating that 'The Accidental Prime Minister' will hit the screens in 2018 winters. "#TheAccidentalPrimeMinister is based on Sanjaya Baru's book The Accidental Prime Minister... Slated for Winter 2018 release," Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Indeed, Anupam Kher is elated to be a part of teh movie. He told a leading daily, "Acting the role of anyone in contemporary history is extremely challenging, as comparisons are bound to be instant and inevitable. But as I have always revelled in challenges, right from my first film Saaransh, I look forward to the experience of portraying PM Manmohan Singhâ€.Interestingly, National award-winning director Hansal Mehta is writing the screenplay of this political drama. Notably, apart from Anupam Kher, the makers are yet to finalise the remaining cast of 'The Accidental Prime Minister'.
