WATCH: Women Lashes Out At ‘Shikara’ Director After Movie Screening; Sobs Uncontrollably

Vidhu Vinod Chopra's comeback movie that he claims to be  a personal account, Shikara that revolves around their plight and the struggles of the Kashmiri Pandits during the exodus of the 1990s isn't exactly receiving a warm welcome from the community. A petition was earlier filed by few people in J&K Court against the release of Shikara alleging that there were distortion facts. And now, a video of Kashmiri Pandit woman ranting against the filmmaker is going viral on the internet

 

After netizens claimed that the movie changed its tagline from the Untold Story of Kashmiri Pandits’ to ‘A Timeless Love Story in the Worst of Times', a woman accused the filmmaker of distorting facts and making a love story out of this grave issue.

While the director seems unperturbed with her allegations and continues describing his side of the story, she can be seen crying uncontrollably. A certain section of Kashmiri Pandits is even thinking about boycotting the film and this would hamper its box office collection tremendously. Earlier fans had called out the director

Meanwhile three citizens of the valley has also filed a petition at the Jammu and Kashmir High Court accusing the film of showing the Muslims of the valley in bad light. Speaking about the petition, Iftikhar Misgar, Majid Hyderi and Irfan Hafiz Lone had alleged that the film portrays untrue facts about Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandits. In his conversation with IANS, Misgar told, "We are asking for stalling the release and deleting a few scenes that portray the valley's Muslims in a bad light. We have urged the high court to take the case upon a priority basis." The court, however, dismissed the plea following assurances by the counsels for the Centre and the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir that the release of the movie will not cause any law and order problem.
