Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were on Saturday declared husband and wife by Archbishop of Canterbury at St George's Chapel of Windsor Castle. The wedding spectacle was witnessed by 600 guests and millions of people across the globe. Â
Crowds watching on the large screens outside the castle cheered for the newly married couple
Prominent celebrities like Elton John, David Beckham, Oprah Winfrey and our own ‘desi’ girl Priyanka Chopra were present at the royal wedding. Queen Elizabeth II on Saturday morning bestowed the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle respectively.
The adorable couple looked into each other eyes while exchanging the vows. Congratulatory messages from all the corners started pouring on the two after they tied the knot.
After the wedding ceremony, the royal couple emerged from the chapel Household Cavalry and shared their first kiss as a married couple.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle became the sixteenth Royal Couple to celebrate their wedding at Windsor Castle since 1863.
Prince Charles stepped into the role of the bride’s father and walked Meghan Markle down the aisle for her marriage with Prince Harry. Markle’s father Thomas Markle Sr couldn’t’ attend the wedding due to ill-health.
Princess Charlotte, Harry’s niece was one of the six young girls chosen as bridesmaids, while her elder brother Prince George, aged four was chosen as a pageboy.
The royal couple opted for a modern touch to their marriage ceremony and instead of using traditional vows, selected words from The Marriage Service from Common Worship (2000).
