Royal wedding: Meghan Markle looks ELEGANT in silk gown with Indian Lotus (see pictures, videos)
Popular American actress Meghan Markle took nuptial vows with Prince Harry at St George’s Chapel on Saturday. The Remember Me actress’ white wedding gown which was designed by well-known British designer Clare Waight Keller had a selection of flora, including an Indian Lotus in her veil.
The veil of the boat-necked wedding gown represented the distinctive flora of a Commonwealth country. ''The veil of Meghan’s boat-necked, sculpted white dressgown represented the distinctive flora of each Commonwealth country united in one spectacular floral composition’’, Kensington Palace said in a statement.
The statement also said that Meghan Markle had expressed the wish to have all the 53 countries of Commonwealth with her during the ceremony.
India’s Lotus, Bangladesh’s White Water Lily and Pakistan’s Jasmine were part of  the Suits actress’ five-metres long silk tulle veil. The Duchess of Sussex wore earrings and bracelet made by Cartier.
The veil is held in place by Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, which was lent to Meghan Markle by The Queen. The diamond bandeau was made in 1932, with the entre brooch dating back to 1893.
The veil was made from silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers in silk threads and organza. Meghan Markle’s bouquet included Forget-Me-Nots which were Princess of Wales Diana’s favourite flower.

The royal couple specifically chose them to be included in the bride’s bouquet to honour the memory of the late Princess on their special day, the statement said.
