At least two passengers died and 10 others injured when two coaches of Guwahati-bound Capital Express derailed near Samuktala station in West Bengal.
The incident took place shortly after 9pm near Shamuktala road station, which is about 32km from Alipurduar Railway Division headquarters.
North East Frontier Railway officials said an accident relief train has already reached the spot from Alipurduar along with senior railway officials.
The injured have been rushed to Alipurduar district hospital for treatment and relief and rescue work is underway, said Alipurduar DRM Sanjiv Kishore.Â
