2,000 crore drug racket case: Thane Police names Mamta Kulkarni as an accused
The Interpol May Now Issue A Red Corner Notice To Mamta. Till Now, The Police Has Arrested 10 People In Connection With The Case. Mamta’s Husband Vicky Goswami Was Also Named As An Accused In The Case Earlier.
Former Bollywood actor Mamta Kulkarni has been named as an accused by the Thane Police in India’s biggest every drug racket, which was busted two months ago.
The Interpol may now issue a Red Corner Notice to Mamta. Till now, the police has arrested 10 people in connection with the case. Mamta’s husband Vicky Goswami was also named as an accused in the case earlier.
Addressing the media, Thane CP Paramvir Singh said according to the investigations, Mamta and Vicky were the masterminds behind the drug racket. He also revealed that Mamta attended the meetings that took place in Kenya on January 8. Also, he said that 100 kgs of Ephedrine were sent to Africa.
Meanwhile, Thane Police is also investigating the possible roles of few more people from Bollywood in the scandal. Thane Police had busted the drug racket which brought Mamta into spotlight after her husband, an international drug lord, became wanted by the US for running a narcotics racket. In a record haul, 20 tonnes of ephedrine were seized by the Thane police in April, while Drugs worth Rs 2,000 crore were confiscated.
