4 coaches of train derail at Kanpur Central railway station
Earlier, Fifteen People Were Injured After 12 Coaches Of The Howrah-New Delhi Poorva Express Derailed Near Kanpur.
Four coaches of a train derailed at Platform number 3 of the Kanpur Central railway station on Wednesday. According to reports, no one got injured in the incident.
The local MEMU train (no. 64201), on its way to Kanpur from Lucknow, was arriving on platform number 3 of the Kanpur railway station when two of its bogies derailed around 7.30 am, North-Central Railway PRO Amit Malviya.
An inquiry was ordered into the incident, Malviya said, adding that senior officials were present at the station.
Earlier, fifteen people were injured after 12 coaches of the Howrah-New Delhi Poorva Express derailed near Kanpur. The train, which was travelling from Prayagraj to Delhi, got derailed at around 1 am near Rooma village, about 15 kilometers from Kanpur.
The coaches that derailed were: S8, S9, B1-B5, A1, A2, HA1, pantry car and an SLR (seating cum luggage rake), according to a statement issued by the railways.
Indian Railways spokesperson Smita Vats Sharma told ANI that an "Accident Relief Train" and medical equipment have been sent to the accident site. The main route has been affected due to derailment.
