Six Members Of A Family Were Killed After The Car They Were Travelling In Fell Into Parambikulam -Aliyar-Project Canal Near Pollachi In Coimbatore
At least six members of a family were killed after the car they were travelling in fell into Parambikulam -Aliyar-Project canal near Pollachi in Coimbatore. The accident took place at around 1.30 am, news agency ANI reported. The bodies of the deceased have been kept at Pollachi General Hospital. Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway into the matter.
The deceased have been identified as 45-year-old Prakash, his 40-year-old wife Chitra, 8-year-old daughter Pooja, his 50-year-old elder sister S Sumathi, his brother's 42-year-old wife Latha and her 9-year-old daughter Dharani, according to media reports. The family was returning home from Lord Murugan temple in Palani when the accident took place. The deceased have been identified as 45-year-old Prakash, his 40-year-old wife Chitra, 8-year-old daughter Pooja, his 50-year-old elder sister S Sumathi, his brother's 42-year-old wife Latha and her 9-year-old daughter Dharani.  On Tuesday night in a separate incident, three people were killed and four others were injured in the collision between a car and a bus, in Arsikere Taluk in Hassan district in Karnataka.
