A 23-year-old law student in Kerala’s Kochi bit of the tongue of a man after he allegedly tried to molest her.
Police said a 30-year-old man attempted rape on the law student on Monday night.
Police told the media that the incident happened in Vypeen in Kochi after the accused, identified as Rajesh, removed the power supply of the victim’s residence at night and attempted to rape the victim.
According to the complaint lodged by the woman, she bit off part of a tongue after her neighbour tried to molest her and tried to kiss her.
The Kerala Police said, the victim has produced the bitten tongue piece around 2 cm long at the police station.
Police has booked the man under Indian Penal Code sections 367 (Attempt to rape), 354 (assault with the intention to outrage modesty of a woman) and 447 (criminal trespass).
Police arrested the accused from a local hospital where he was getting himself treated.
According to police, the accused had told the hospital that his tongue got split after he met an accident.
The accused was allegedly had similar charges against him and was in judicial custody for a week, said police.
