ACB summons former Delhi Waqf Board chief Amanatullah Khan in recruitment scam
The Anti-Corruption Branch Has Summoned Former Delhi Waqf Board Chairman Amanatullah Khan To Appear Before It In Connection With The Alleged “recruitment Scam' In The Body.
The Anti-Corruption Branch has summoned former Delhi Waqf Board chairman Amanatullah Khan to appear before it in connection with the alleged “recruitment scam” in the body.
“Khan has been asked to join the enquiry and be present in the ACB office in Civil Lines onFriday afternoon,” an ACB official said.
Lt Governor Najeeb Jung had on October 7 dissolved the Board, constituted by Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government, and quashed all the appointments made by Khan.
He also referred the whole matter related to Delhi Waqf Board to the CBI for investigation into the “deliberate and persistent acts of illegality, violation of rules, allegations of corruption, possibility of malafide”.
“We had received two complaints against Khan, one from a BJP leader and RTI activist Vivek Garg and another from Mohammad Mustafa alleging that recruitments in the Board were made without following due procedure. Khan will be questioned tomorrow in connection with Garg’s complaint,” the official said.
Alleging that the ACB was “targeting” him at the “behest of Lt Governor” for unearthing “scams” by former chairmen of Delhi Waqf Board, under Sheila Dikshit regime, Khan said the LG’s order will be challenged in the court of law.
