Ahead of Sabarimala reopening, over 500 women aged 10-50 sign up for Lord Ayyappa darshan
Ahead of Sabarimala temple reopening for the two-month long ‘mandalam-makaravilakku’ pilgrimage season next week, over 5o0 women aged between 10 and 50 have registered for darshan through Kerala Police’s online booking system - Sabarimala Virtual-Q.
The booking comes amid the threat of violent protests by right-wing groups who are against the entry of women of menstrual age despite the Supreme Court order to allow them.

The Kerala police, however, said that the identities of the women cannot be identified as it doesn’t ask them for an identification card before registration.
To regulate and streamline the devotees at Sabarimala temple, the Kerala Police had designed and developed a special software titled "Sabarimala Virtual Q-System".
The portal provides people with an online facility to reserve their place in the queue at the Sabarimala temple for Lord Ayyappa Darshan at their desired time on any day when the shrine is open.
