AIADMK general secretary Sasikala Natarajan in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged for a promulgation of the ordinance for Jallikattu on Wednesday.
In the letter, AIADMK supremo wrote, “This sporting event is inextricably linked to the rural, agrarian customs, practices and psyche of the Tamils and also helps in the conservation of native germplasm, since Bulls with excellent physical attributes alone are reared for this Sport.”
Earlier on Tuesday, Sasikala had urged centre to review its decision on Pongal holiday. She further intensified the claim seeking permission to keep up with the traditional sport during the harvesting festival of Pongal.
To make a consolidate appeal on the same, AIADMK MPs will meet PM Modi and submit a petition seeking the promulgation of the ordinance.
