A major tragedy was averted on Monday night as a passenger on Air Asia flight opened the exit door before landing at Ranchi airport. However, all the passengers are safe. The unruly passenger has been handed over to the police.
While the plane was close to make a landing at the runway of Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi, a passenger abruptly opened one of the exit gates of the plane. The flight landing was still remarkably controlled by the pilots and hundreds of the passengers on board survived a major scare.
More details are still awaited regarding when exactly did the passenger open the door and what action is being taken against him. The incident has come at a time when the central government is mulling a no-fly list for unruly passengers.
Earlier on Sunday, passengers of a Delhi-bound flight created ruckus after they were forced to fly in a plane where the AC was not working. Passengers complained about it before take off from Bagdogra, West Bengal, and were told it will start after take off. Some passengers had also complained of breathing problems and tried to use oxygen masks which didn't work.
BJP leader Ram Madhav had also tweeted about delay in his Air India flight from Jammu on Sunday as headphone of one pilot was missing.
The Centre took to chalking out a national no-fly list for unruly passengers after Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad allegedly assaulted an Air India staffer on board a plane in March.
