In A Heinous Incident Of Revenge Crime In Aligarh, The Two-and-a-half-year-old Girl Was Strangled To Death And Her Eyes Gouged Out After Her Parents Allegedly Failed To Repay A Loan Of Rs 10,000, The Police Have Said.
The brutal murder case of a two-and-a-half-year-old baby in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh has sparked a nationwide outrage demanding strict action against the accused. Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding death penalty for the accused. In a heinous incident of revenge crime in Aligarh, the two-and-a-half-year-old girl was strangled to death and her eyes gouged out after her parents allegedly failed to repay a loan of Rs 10,000, the police have said.
The body of the minor girl was spotted by locals as stray dogs nibbled at it in Tappal area. The body was found with broken hands in a dumping ground not far from the minor's house.
“A case of kidnapping was registered on May 31. The accused have been arrested and they have confessed to the crime. It was a case of personal enmity but there is no sign of rape. The minor was strangled to death and her eyes were gouged out. The accused are in jail now,” Akash Kulhari, SSP Aligarh, was quoted as saying by news agency ANI. The body of the girl was later found from a dump over five days later.
Earlier in the day, BJP ally Shiv Sena, in its mouthpiece Saamana, reminded the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh to stay true to its 'Beti Bachao' slogan. Saamana did not stop short of mentioning that it was only because of the pressure from the family of the child and public outrage that the Uttar Pradesh government and the police sprung into action. "When the child went missing, the cops were slacking and even the investigation began after a delay. When the parents threatened suicide, the cops began rushing and arrested two people. Slogans of 'Beti Bachao' are rendered useless at times like these."
The Shiv Sena mouthpiece also said that incidents such as these are a blot on humanity and force the society to hang its head in shame.
