At Least 20 People Were Killed After A Boat Capsized In Krishna River In Krishna District's Ibrahimpatnam Mandal Of Andhra Pradesh On Sunday.
At least 20 people were killed after a boat capsized in Krishna River in Krishna district's Ibrahimpatnam mandal of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.
District Collector B Lakshmi Kantam confirmed recovery of 17 bodies so far in the tragic incident.
"17 bodies recovered so far, trying to trace remaining missing persons. Government has appointed a senior committee to inquire, police has also registered a case against 4-5 persons out of which one has been arrested," said Krishna District Collector B Lakshmi Kantam.
The rescue operations were underway and senior officials rushed to the spot.
Last week, at least nine people, including five children, drowned in two incidents in Vaishali and Samastipur districts of Bihar, police had said.
While six picnickers died after falling into the Ganga river in Vaishali, three women drowned in the Baghmati River when a boat capsized in Samastipur district, the officials had said.
The police had also informed that nine people had drowned in Vaishali.
